Why are you adopting from Africa? Aren't there plenty of kids here you can adopt?
We don't have a grand explanation for why God lead us to Africa. We didn't study it for years, or have a passion for its people that lead us to pursue Africa specifically. Actually, we only knew we had a passion for adoption, and we didn't care where from.
If you've been following our story from the beginning, you know that we originally tried to adopt locally via our States foster to adopt program. God seemed to close the doors on that as a possibility for various reasons, including scheduling conflicts, and it quickly became clear that it wasn't an option.
At least for now.
We chose to trust God's leading and that began us to our search abroad.

Despite the fact that God lead us to Africa, and it wasn't something we had hearts for to begin with, that changed quickly. Through this process of exploring Africa, God has given us a great passion for the people, and their children.
Though the people of Africa are a world away, this is where God has lead us to. This is where we hope and pray to find our next child.
