Eva On Adoption

As I was laying in bed last night, I realized I really haven't share a whole lot about Eva Grace on the blog. This was a shocking realization, especially considering that she is the main motivation we have behind adoption!

So, I thought I would do a quick post to let you all know how SHE feels about our adoption. Seeing that she is only 2, she has no idea where babies come from. I've never had another pregnancy since her, so for all she knows SHE came from Africa and was adopted. We've been talking to her and explaining to her that one day mommy and daddy will get on a plane to get her brother or sister (which she called brot-ter-shis-ter all in one word). She thinks that is pretty cool, and sometimes says "Eva wanna come!"

I have a beautiful necklace from THIS shop that says "Waiting Im-patiently" with Africa on it, and she often looks at it to say "BROT-TER-SHIS-TER WHERE ARE YOU?!" Or "Eva wanna hold you!"

It's pretty stinking adorable if you ask me. She is also under the FALSE impression that we are adopting from "Alaska" and tells people that is where her "brot-ter-shis-ter" lives.

Though we are trying to explain to her that we do not get to choose, when she does have an opinion about it (because sometimes the answer is 'no thank you want ice cream' not brot-ter-shis-ter) she says she wants a sister so they can play tea parties.

Every night we say bed-time prayers and sometimes, all by herself, she prays for Jesus to keep them safe and bring them home soon for hugs.

I'd say for being 2, she has a pretty good grasp of what is going on. As time progresses, she will learn more as well. But, for now, she is just as excited as we are to be a sister, although we aren't 100% sure if it will be a big or little sister!!!

Until that time, we will just keep loving this sweet, sweet girl. I mean look at her, what's NOT to love?!

She loves mommy.

And Daddy.

And dress up.

And water.

And Dora the Explorer.

And being outside.

And last, but not least, her very own "brot-ter-shis-ter."
