This Means War

Without the theological aspect, the emphasis on adoption too easily is seen as mere charity. Without the missional aspect, the doctrine of adoption too easily is seen as mere metaphor.

That's why adoption isn't charity - it's war.
-Russell D. Moore

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This adoption is not our “good deed.” We are not “good people” doing a “good thing.” This child, will not be looked at as any different than our child born to us by our own flesh. While we are burdened, and do want to do what pleases God, we don’t deserve any praise here.  Only Jesus deserves the praise.

We are not “good people” doing a “good thing.”

We are children of Christ, fighting a war that needs to be fought.

This is NOT how it should be. It is not okay that we live in a world where children are homeless and hungry, and that the people who fight back get the praise. It seriously should be a no brainer. Every child needs love.

Every.
Single.
One.
PERIOD.

Not just the cute ones, or the white ones, or the black ones, or the healthy ones, or the unhealthy ones.

Every. Single. Child.

“Do not withhold good from those whom it is due WHEN IT IS IN THE POWER OF YOUR HAND TO DO SO. –Proverbs 3:27

I’m only one. But still, I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
– Edward Everett Hale

Sure, not everybody is called to adopt. But we all have new hearts, given to us after our adoptions in Christ, and those hearts should be beating. Beating beautifully for Jesus, and being burden with the things that burden Him.

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. –Matthew 10: 27-28

This is a war we are fighting. We are fighting against disease, death, starvation, sex slavery, malnutrition, child soldiers and dispear.

We are fighting so that there is one less.

One less orphan.

One less statistic.

With that said we are excited and encouraged to share with you our next fundraising idea. My handsome husband is the brains and the legs behind this operation. On June 8th TeJay will be walking the McCarran loop (25 miles for those of you out of the area) while pushing a wheelbarrow.

The wheelbarrow is significant, because we are asking for others to sign up to help "share the load." We will be taking individuals to sponsor him on his endeavor at $1.00 a mile.  Hopefully by next week we will have our business sponsors lined up and we can share our flier here on the blog. We are very excited about this!!

FINANCES AND PROGRESS:

Our home study rough draft should be done next Monday and ready to be emailed out to our agency. This is good news! I am hopeful that by next weeks end we can go on the referral list for our child, next Friday cannot come quickly enough!!!!

Also, the boat that is finally ready to go up for sale (due to freezing weather we could not put it up for sale before now). Here is a collage picture of our beautiful boat, complete with wake tower and a recently rebuilt transmission (last season, we have proof of transaction). It is a ski/wake board boat, not meant for rough water.

We are asking $11,000, if you would like more information please email TeJay at pic073mm@yahoo.com
